This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of talented engineers, you will work with other softwaredevelopmentengineers, hardware responsible engineers, systems engineers, and other discipline teams todefine theembedded software applications supporting avionics components used across our Lunar programs.Software is the heart of space vehicle development so your ability to collaborate with other discipline teams effectively will be an important aspect of this role. You will also have long term vision and strategy for the products to truly sustain lunar missions.

Work withsystems engineers, hardware responsible engineers, developers,and program managers todefine software requirements for avionics components.
Leadteam members onsoftware systems engineeringbest practices.
Set direction and goals for the team regardingthedevelopment of requirements, verification events, and test cases.
Manage hardware-software integration problems and work across vehicle and mission design teams.
Deeply understand the safety-critical software development process andensure that software behavior is properly captured to ensure a safe mission.
B.S. or higher degree in computerscience, computerengineering, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
5years professional experience minimum.
Experienceindevelopingsoftware requirements, verification plans, and test cases.
Experienceworking across systems and software disciplines, leading cross functional groups.
Experience inspacecraft design and operations.
Experience with fault management design.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Experience reviewing software architecture, design, and code.
Experiencewith data budgets, command and telemetry definitions, and ground system integration.
Experience withSystem Safety Assessments and reviewing safety artifacts.
Experience withModel-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Agile methodologies Aerospace Industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities
Experience with NPR 7150.2D and/or DO-178
Experience with compiled languages,C/C++
Experience with scripting languages, Python/JavaScript
Base Pay Range for:
