Electrical Design and Test Engineer II – Blue Ring

The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will own design elements of the Blue Ring test equipment, and test the Blue Ring spacecraft alongside it's unique payloads. This role will require the candidate to coordinate design elements with avionics product owners, collaborate with customers, and support Blue Ring spacecraft test teams. In a fast-paced, dynamic environment, you will architect the test equipment design, deliver engineering design products, own fielded hardware , and develop LabVIEW code to command and control the Blue Ring spacecraft . You will have a major role to play in delivering the Blue Ring spacecraft from early manufacturing integration of sub-assemblies, all the way through final payload integration of the Blue Ring spacecraft in preparation for launch.
- Develop automated test equipment hardware and software for the Blue Ring spacecraft and its payloads
- Own fielded test equipment
- Review and apply real-time testanomaly troubleshootingand resolution of issues encountered during hardwarevalidation testing and verification testing.
- Support design and production to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
- Design and develop automated Test equipment software using National Instruments LabVIEW
- B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area.
- 3+ years of Test Equipment hardware or software design
- 3+ years of Assembly, Integration and Test experience
- Recent experience with development of automated test equipment, electrical troubleshooting equipment, and/or test equipment software development
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and technical requirements.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- 2+ years experience testing production flight hardware at a manufacturing site or testing integrated mission ready flight hardware
- Experience developing support equipment missile/spacecraft/satellite command/control systems, RF telemetry systems, power systems, and/or battery management systems
- Experience developing schematic drawings, developing test equipment drawings, writing test equipment automated scripts or testing flight production hardware
- 3+ years of LabVIEW, Python, C, or C++ software development
- Ability to travel domestically at least 10% of the time
- Ability to obtain or already possess a DOD TS/SCI security clearance
