This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small team the Integration Engineer will be responsible for facility construction/modification support, facility operation, maintenance, and test article integration for rocket engine and space vehicle testing activities. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

§ 02RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Test facility construction, operation and maintenance

    • Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing

    • Test article integration and checkout

    • Reviewing, editing and following Test Procedures

    • Operation of test facility systems

    • Installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation

    • General trouble shooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, etc

  • Working with engineers on design concepts/improvements and development tests

  • Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations

  • Providing design feedback on the test stand and test article(s)

  • Flexibility to support testing campaigns as required – this may mean shift work or extended hours based on testing needs

  • Safe working practices:

    • Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high pressure systems

    • Demonstrate a strong bias for safety in operations

§ 03QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in propulsion facility/system or launch vehicle operation, integration, or maintenance

  • 1-3 years of experience in rocket engine test facility support, testing rocket or jet engines, or closely related applications

  • Experience with pneumatic systems, propellant loading and off-loading systems

  • Test facility construction, operation, and maintenance

  • Demonstrated ability to work with

    • Test, flight and safety critical hardware

    • Instrumentation, sensors, and electronics

    • Standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings – P&IDs, fabrication drawings

§ 05WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF A VARIETY OF ROCKET PROPELLANTS, INCLUDING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, RP, AND CRYOGENICS
  • Knowledge in the use of computer programs such as AutoCAD or Creo

  • Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc) and pressurized system safety

  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware

  • MIG/TIG, orbital welding experience

    WA applicants is $24.74 - $34.63
