§ 01OVERVIEW

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will lead the overall physical integration and packaging of structural, mechanical, fluids, and avionics subsystems of various spaceflight Ground systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of New Glenn product development and mission integration. You will create and manage interface definitions between vehicle subsystems and potential payloads using appropriate control documents to ensure that the configuration supports major design reviews and integration milestones. You will coordinate regular configuration reviews to address interfaces, subsystem functionality, assembly and operations. You will communicate and collaborate with all development teams involved on projects.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.  Passion for our mission and vision is required!

§ 03MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S. degree in engineering and at least 7 years of experience in the development and packaging of aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
  • Demonstrated configuration control experience from early trade studies through final design and into manufacturing and test
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software and visualization tools
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling and planning principles and tools
  • Good judgment and flexibility. Driven to achieve results
§ 04PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of demonstrated ability in development and integration of space craft or launch vehicle ground systems.
  • Experience using PTC Creo, DOORS, and Windchill
  • Knowledge of aerospace vehicle and ground system fabrication and assembly techniques
  • Ability to interpret and apply high-level system requirements to practical design solutions
  • Current secret clearance, or ability to obtain needed clearance
