This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of test technicians and test engineers you will help test a wide variety of test articles to meet Blue Origin's program requirements for various spaceflight systems. You will gain hands on experience operating different pneumatic, hydraulic, and cryogenic test systems. You will interface with engineering teams to implement continuous improvement to increase throughput. You will fabricate and modify test systems to meet program requirements. As a component test technician you will have a critical role contributing to test operations in a high rate rocket engine manufacturing environment.

§ 03PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Test Operations is a physically active, all four seasons role with both indoor and outdoor work requirements, to include rain, wind, cold, heat, & humidity. Certain tasks require lifting up to 50lbs unassisted

§ 04RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Set up and operate test equipment which may include but not limited to vibration tables, thermal chambers, pressure instruments, water delivery systems, flow meters, and other test equipment

  • Perform functions that include test troubleshooting, basic equipment maintenance, coordination with test engineers, and engagement with management on daily test activities

  • Assemble hardware and production assets to support testing activities

§ 05MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, testing, or related mechanical or electrical field (3+ years)

  • Documented experience using standard mechanical tools such as torque tools, drills, threaded inserts, wrenches)

  • Experience interpreting a variety of technical documentation including drawings, schematics, diagrams, P&ID

  • Hands on assembly, integration, test, troubleshooting, or validation experience across mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems

  • Documented experience operating pressurized test systems and environmental test systems

  • Proficiency with Windows operation systems and Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted, work at heights

  • Ability to travel to other Blue Origin locations

  • Schedule flexibility to meet engine deliveries

§ 06PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated effectiveness executing complex operations in safety and quality critical settings

  • Technical certification, trade school, or relevant degree

  • Experience with assembly and fabrication of wiring harnesses

  • Experience with troubleshooting data acquisitions system hardware and data acquisition software
